We all know health is wealth, but so is financial security, and no matter where you are on the spectrum, you have to deal with the realities of what it means to "live beyond the metrics". Yeah, that's exactly what's happening to boomers!
Think about it . . . social security and pensions were not intended to last 25 years (or more) beyond retirement. And let's face it, just because you're living longer, doesn't mean your living better! In fact, a lot of people are concerned about having enough money to live comfortably “forever”.
I'm notoriously frugal which I'm sure comes from my mother and father being raised during the "waste not, want not" depression era. So, in addition to expertly scraping the last of anything from a jar with a spoon, it's second nature to me to look for sales on everything! And let's face it, finding a good deal or saving money for that “rainy day” that isn’t so hypothetical right now, is essential.
